Whaling rifle designed to use harpoon projectiles, made by Ebenezer W. Pierce. The barrel is engraved with the signature "E. PIERCE" and the weapon's number: 8. This rifle model is designed as a breechloader, where the cartridge is loaded from the rear and the projectile is loaded from the front.
