The castle in Pomorzany —the first stronghold was built between 1340 and 1350 by Mikołaj Świnka on lands granted to him by King Casimir the Great. The stronghold was built on the Złota Lipa River amid numerous ponds, which reinforced the structure’s defenses. In the 15th century, Zygmunt Sieniński of Oleśnica, the castellan of Trembowla, became the owner of the castle. […] After the death of Jakub Sobieski, his daughter Maria Karolina, Duchess de Bouillon, sold the castle in 1740 to Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł, who was related to the Sobieski family. The new owner did not take good care of the building, which slowly began to fall into disrepair. The castle fell into severe disrepair as a result of a fire in 1771. Stanisław Pruszyński, castellan of Owruck and later of Zhytomyr, purchased the castle from Hieronim Radziwiłł. After his death, the castle belonged to Józef, and then to Gabriel Erazm Pruszyński. On May 10, 1876, an agreement was signed under which Count Stanisław Potocki purchased the estate, including the castle, for 450,000 guilders. After him, the castle belonged to Count Roman Potocki, whose son, Jerzy Potocki—a Polish diplomat—restored the castle following the destruction of World War I and maintained the estate in exemplary fashion until September 17, 1939. After the war (during the period of the Ukrainian SSR) and until the 1970s, the castle housed a school. (Wikipedia).
