Sigismund III Vasa, Ort 1623, Bydgoszcz – PR M – rarer
Bust of the king facing right.
A variant featuring the Sas coat of arms (of Mikołaj Daniłowicz—Grand Crown Treasurer) in a decorative shield, divided at the bottom by a circumferential inscription on the reverse.
A variant with the king’s title SIGIS ... PR M in a border on the obverse and … NE N SV … in a border on the reverse—rare.
Characteristic end of the sash.
Royal crown with arches.
Crown above the heraldic shields with arches, unscored. Rosettes on the fleurons. The crown’s rim is decorated with seven small crosses.
The mantling on the sides of the coats of arms takes the form of a spiral with a long arm.
Condition: 2-
Scratches on the reverse surface (visible in the photo) and slight localized under-strikes, but a beautifully preserved piece. Good detail. Luster and plenty of mint mirror. A rare, prized, and sought-after inscription variant. The coin is rare and quite difficult to find on the collectors’ market.
