Pair of gilded bronze candelabra signed F. Barbedienne, 27.5 cm.

A pair of candelabra made of cast bronze with a gilded finish. The pieces feature a neoclassical-inspired design, characterized by a square base with recessed corners that supports a conical shaft decorated with spiral fluting. The central, cylindrical shaft features relief decorations with grotesque motifs and classical figures set within ornamental panels. The upper section terminates in an urn-shaped candleholder, also decorated with fluting and beaded motifs. On the front of the upper rim of each base is the engraved inscription “F. BARBEDIENNE” in capital block letters, identifying it as a product of Ferdinand Barbedienne’s famous Parisian foundry. The craftsmanship demonstrates a high degree of precision in the chiseled details and the turning of the components.
