Despite bends, fractures and tears, a fully legible piece of an interesting 5 guilder bill issue from July 1866 directly related to the Austro-Prussian War of the time.
It was the penultimate issue of the Austrian Empire before the establishment of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
These banknotes were part of the monetary system of Galicia and Lodomeria, and if only for this reason deserve special attention from collectors of Partition-era issues.
Very importantly, on the reverse they contain not only the inscription in Polish "five Rhine gold", but also an image of the coat of arms of Galicia and Lodomeria.
