Georges Briata - born January 5, 1933 died December 7, 2019 in Marseille was a French painter, professor at École supérieure des beaux-arts de Marseille. He exhibited in galleries and museums in Japan, Switzerland, the US and Canada, among others. He said of himself, "Before a work of art, there are two kinds of attitudes: we try to understand or we ask to be understood. I am of those who ask for understanding."
