Maria Michałowska, Traces a,b,c,d fig. 2, drawing, relief on cardboard, 86x51 cm, 1972
This is a work from Maria Michalowska's iconic series of drawings whose motifs are profiles and hands. Both faces and hands represent the essence of each person's identity. In this series, the artist, by multiplying and formalizing their shape, depersonalizes these most characteristic identity shapes of man, making them a "general human value." The drawing comes from a series in which the artist incorporates a third dimension into the composition in the form of a relief made from successive layers of cardboard. There are very few drawings from this series left on the primary art market. The work has undeniable collector and investment value. Lower margin - lower left corner title, signature - lower right corner. Very good condition, unframed. The gallery can realize the binding of the drawing at the request and expense of the buyer.
Information about the drawing in the monograph Maria Michalowska, E. Kosciellak, 2014, published by Koscielak Gallery.
