Slawomir Chrystow (b. 1976) - artist associated with Krakow, painter, draughtsman and graphic artist.
From 1996 to 2001, he studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, receiving his diploma in the woodcut studio of Professor Zbigniew Lutowski. In his work, he combines painting, drawing and linocut, and in addition to traditional means of expression, he also uses inspiration from Eastern ebru art and calligraphy. His art draws on archetypes, literature, myths and symbols, weaving together the aesthetics of different cultures and eras. A special place in the artist's oeuvre is occupied by a series of 12 illustrations to "The Saragossa Manuscript Found in Saragossa" by Jan Potocki, presented at prestigious exhibitions in Łańcut, the Royal Castle in Warsaw,
in Rome (Corso Polonia Festival and the Polish Embassy) and at the Polish Library in Paris.
He has won prizes and awards, including the NGM competitions in Cracow and the International Biennial of Printmaking in Granada.
