Stefan Sadowski (1941 - 2023) is a Polish artist working in the field of art glass and design of utility glass. Studied at the Faculty of Painting Graphics and Sculpture with a specialization in Glass Design Studies, under the direction of professors Maria and Stanislaw Dawski at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wroclaw from 1963 to 1969. From 1968 (after obtaining his diploma) as a designer at the Glassworks "Sudety", from 1975 as a manager of the Design Center of HSG "Sudety" in Szczytna, later as a chief specialist. Creator of many designs, dishes and sets, produced in blown soda glass, then in decorated cut crystal glass. In 1986, he established his own studio "Glass Studio" in Polanica-Zdrój. He also designs unique glass from heat-formed layered glass with submerged color and bubbles. The glass blocks, poured in the home studio, are colored with metal oxides, matted or sandblasted. Light that enriches the sculpture and colors brings the works closer to stained glass. He has presented his work in the field of functional glass many times at the International Fair in Poznan and the International Fair in Frankfurt am Main. He has exhibited art glass at numerous individual and collective exhibitions at home and abroad. His works in the field of utility and artistic glass are in the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Wroclaw, the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Poznan and in museums in Jelenia Gora, Sosnowiec, Sandomierz and the Museum of the Kłodzko Land in Kłodzko and the Castle Museum in Książ, as well as in foreign museums: Antwerp (Belgium), Glasmuseet in Ebeltoft (Denmark), Valencia (Spain), Europäisches Museum für Modernes Glas des Veste Coburg in Coburg and Glasmalerei Peters Studios gallery in Paderborn (Germany), as well as in many private collections at home and abroad. He was a member of the Union of Polish Artists since 1969, and a member of the NSZZ "Solidarity" since 1980. He was an alderman of the Polanica-Zdrój City Council from 1990 to 1994.
