HARDCOVER IN PERIOD HALF-LEATHER, MARBLED EDGES
An agricultural manual by Ferdynand Reuter(1760–1832), longtime administrator of Prince Józef Czartoryski’s estates, field marshal of the Austrian army, and member of the Royal Agricultural Society in Warsaw. The Polish translation was prepared by Stanisław Kłokocki (1763–1831), a journalist, economist, and translator, and a close associate of Prince Adam Kazimierz Czartoryski. The book was published with farmers in Galicia in mind, but its guidelines can also be applied in other regions of Poland and Lithuania. Reuter points to the need to move away from “blindly imitative farming,” emphasizing that “the size of the farmland and its diversity” are of key importance.
On the title page, there is a stamp reading “Library of the Imperial-Royal Agricultural Society in Kraków.”
