A rare medal commemorating the signing of the proclamation of November 5, 1916, which led to the establishment of the Kingdom of Poland. As its reverse side states, “Erhebung polnischer Gebiete zum Königreich,” meaning “the elevation of Polish territories to the status of a kingdom.” This took place at a conference in Pszczyna. It was signed by the authorities of the German Empire (represented here as Wilhelm II) and Austria-Hungary (Franz Joseph).
The medal was made at the Lauer workshop in Nuremberg (signed L. Chr. Lauer).
Quite rare.
The obverse has a manufacturing flaw and slight scuffing. The reverse is in good condition.
Silver (SILBER 990 on the rim), diameter 38.5 mm, weight 15.16 g
