Jan I Olbracht, Kraków Half-Groschen – Poraj
A type of Kraków half-groschen minted by Jan Olbracht, dated 1492–1499. A variant featuring the Poraj (Rose) coat of arms of Piotr Kurozwęcki—Grand Crown Treasurer.
Obverse: A crowned eagle, with its head turned to the left. In the rim: + MONETA+I+ALBERTI
Reverse: A crown. Two small crosses in the lower fields. The Poraj coat of arms beneath the crown. In the rim: + REGIS+POLONIE
Variant featuring the Poraj coat of arms and a trefoil above the crown’s crest.
Condition: 1-
Minor imperfections in the disc and strike, but the coin is beautifully preserved. Intense luster and mint mirror finish. In this condition, the coin is rare and quite difficult to find on the collectors’ market. A beautiful piece for discerning collectors.
