19th Century - Miniature of the Gold Cross of the Virtuti Militari 1830/31 or 1863/64.

Gold miniature of the Cross of Virtuti Militari 4th Class, made in the second half of the 19th century. Miniature made of gold (14 karat gold), Award in the shape of a gold cross, in the middle a white enamel crowned eagle with outspread wings. On the shoulders the inscription in black enamel "Virtuti Militari".
The reverse is flat with a soldered pin. On the lower arm is stamped the number "7" and under the pin attachment is stamped the gold sample: 14K. It has a rosette embroidered in the colors of the medal's ribbon, slightly faded over the years.
The cross was probably made in exile in France or Germany. The miniature was probably worn by a veteran of the November Uprising of 1830/31 or a January Insurgent of 1863/64. The number on the reverse may correspond to the issue number, there is a known piece of 1863/64 5th class with the number "5" on the reverse of the lower arm. An interesting, beautiful and rare piece.
