About the author: Wojciech Bonawentura Fangor (15.11.1922 in Warsaw - 25.10.2015 Warsaw) prominent Polish painter, graphic artist, poster designer and sculptor, also a draughtsman and educator. He took art lessons from childhood, 1941-1942 studying with Tadeusz Pruszkowski, 1942-1943 with Felicjan Szczęsny Kowarski. In 1946-1947 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Warsaw, receiving his diploma already in 1946. In 1953-1961 he was an associate professor at his alma mater and co-founder of the Polish poster school. In 1961, he emigrated staying in Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain and the USA achieving great success mainly in painting and spatial forms, he was also a lecturer at art universities. In 1970, he was the only Polish artist to date to have a solo exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. In the 1960s and 1970s, he created a famous series of paintings with characteristic circles and waves, producing optical effects (op-art). He returned to Poland 1999, and designed the final design of 7 stations of the second line of the Warsaw subway 2007. He worked in the country in posters between 1951 and 1961, creating more than 100 posters including 60 often outstanding movie posters, as well as event and political posters.

Item in quite nice condition, poster with slight traces of double folding, slight loss of upper left corner, slight tears spot glued on verso side with conservation tape.
