Mieczyslaw Zeglinski (1922-1984) was born in Annoslaw near Rawa Mazowiecka. His father was a farmer and owned a farm, which Mieczyslaw later ran. It was from his father that he inherited his talent. Mieczyslaw's father was not a folk artist, but he had a "flair" for making furniture, decorative motifs and utilitarian objects. He was most fond of working in poplar or linden wood. After shaping the trunk with an axe, he would mark the proportions of the figures on it and then carve them with a knife. He smoothed the figures with sandpaper and painted them with paint.
