Oskar Zięta (born 1975). Designer, architect. In his works he combines design and artistic qualities with modern technology. He created one of the most modern steel processing technologies FIDU (Freie Innendruck Umformung - internal pressure molding), which has been awarded numerous prizes including Red Dot Design Award 2008, Schweizer Design Preis 2008, German Design Council Award 2009 or Audi Mentor Prize 2011. He designed the Plopp stool (a Polish folk object pumped with air), which was included in the permanent collection of Centre Pompidou in Paris as one of twelve chairs that changed contemporary design. The collection of products made with FIDU technology also includes chairs, coat hangers and racks, dish stands, ladders, benches and lamps. His designs interweave technology, material science, engineering and art. He runs design and research studios Zieta Prozessdesign in Zurich and Breslau, where he develops the FIDU method and produces furniture and everyday objects. His designs have been exhibited in the collections of Cardi Black Box Gallery in Milan, Stilwerk Limited Editions Gallery in Hamburg, Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich, Badisches Landmuseum in Karlsruhe and also at festivals: London Design Festival 2010, Vienna Design Week 2011. Winner of numerous awards including Materialica 2009, Good Design 2009, DMY 2008 for manufacturing process innovation 2008 and YDMI 2008. Scholarship holder of the ETH Institute of Technology in Zurich. He teaches product design and open design at School of Form.
