unique sculpture, patinated bronze, 15 cm x 65 cm x 20 cm
Zbigniew Jarocki (1946)
The youngest of the Jarocki brothers. As a child he watched his siblings closely and also quite early began to translate ideas into his first attempts to build spatial compositions. Painting, drawing and woodworking were the best forms of spending his free time. He graduated from the High School in Łapy. Then, unsure of his plans, he began studying at the mechanical faculty of Bialystok University of Technology. However, it quickly became apparent that he did not find his way in the world of machinery, so he boldly decided to pursue his artistic passions. He abandoned his previous occupation and took the entrance exams to the Faculty of Sculpture at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. In 1988-93 he studied in the studio of Jan Kucz, under whose tutelage he perfected his sculpture technique and then defended his diploma thesis.
He spent the first years after graduating from the academy in Warsaw. In time, however, he returned to his hometown, where he created his own studio in privacy. His favorite material is bronze, although the artist often creates in concrete and stone as well. He is the author of a series of stylized female figures with lush shapes. A large part of his work is animalistic sculpture. Characteristic are series of horses with simplified mane, which give them a strictly individual style. He designs commemorative statuettes, commemorative medals and also busts.
