Attributed to Abraham Brueghel (1631-1697) and Roman master of the 17th century
BROTHER AND SISTER
Against a dark landscape background, a swimming little boy in a long, partly decorated robe, next to him his little sister in a dress with a white bonnet; she is sitting on a red cushion decorated with a golden tassel, which is lying on a stone block. In her right hand she is holding a pair of yellow daffodils, while more flowers lie in her lap. There is also a large decorative vase on the right, from which some red carnations and pink flowers protrude. The floral still life can be attributed to Abraham Bruegehl (1631-1697). A copper kettle can also be seen at the lower right edge. Loving depiction of the brother and sister, who are both gazing attentively out of the picture. Oil on canvas. 99 x 72 cm.
