Boleslaw Stawinski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow from 1928 to 1934, initially as an extraordinary student During his studies, he was associated with the circle of the so-called first Krakow Group, active from 1933 to 1937, The group, in addition to Stawinski, included, among others. Sasha Blonder, Maria Jarema, Leopold Lewicki, Adam Marczyński, Stanisław Osostowicz, Jonasz Stern, Henryk Wiciński, Aleksander Winnicki-Radziewicz; all at the time of the group's establishment - students of the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, some suspended due to leftist beliefs and participation in protests against the authorities, in the course of which the group was formed (Stawiński himself was even arrested for a short time in 1932). The artist spent the years of World War II in Krzemieniec, after the war he settled in Bytom. He participated in district and national exhibitions, including "Exhibition of Painting in the Fifteenth Anniversary of the Polish People's Republic", National Museum, Warsaw 1961.
