The canvas is a beautiful altarpiece with the Madonna and Child at the top, seated in the clouds and at the bottom two saints, both dressed in black, but on the left is evidently a Franciscan, for the habit tied with rope and clogs which can be seen in plain sight, probably of observant tradition. On the right, on the other hand, is Saint Ignatius of Loyola, in the usual Jesuit dress. Both saints have the same iconographic attribute, the lily. At the bottom of the canvas, in fact, there are two putti who, facing each other, hold the white flower in their hands, clearly one for each saint. The play of shadows and lights, contrasted yet soft, the very white complexions, but with the limbs that light up red on the cheeks, are clear indications of style that bring the painting into the middle of the eighteenth century. The grace of the face and the swollen robes recall the world of Luca Giordano and then very much that of Solimena, of the great Neapolitan tradition, but more modern and mature, so much so that it comes to look at another pupil of Solimena himself, a precise parallel of Conca , Francesco De Mura.
