Self-taught painter. He painted still lifes - floral and fruit (also on porcelain) and landscapes, and also did printmaking. In 2006, on the 70th anniversary of his death, a retrospective exhibition of 60 of his works was held in his hometown. His works often appear at European auctions, mainly in Germany and Denmark. They reach prices of up to 14,000 euros.
