Roman Kazimierz Kochanowski (1857, Kraków – 1945, Freising, Bavaria) – a Polish landscape painter associated with the Kraków art scene of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He specialized in atmospheric, realistic depictions of villages, fields, streams, and country roads, often featuring people or animals. His works are distinguished by a subtle observation of nature, soft light, and harmonious color schemes.
He worked primarily in oil and watercolor, and his body of work includes numerous landscapes from the Kraków area and Bavaria, where he spent the last years of his life. Today, his paintings regularly appear at art auctions and enjoy steady interest from collectors.
