Hendrik Frederik Verheggen - Dutch painter was born on October 12, 1809 in the city of Dordrecht and died there on October 28, 1883. Hendrik was a pupil of Adrianus van der Koogh (1796-1831). He himself taught painters Frans Lebret (1820-1909) and Cornelis Johannes de Vogel (1824-1879). Hendrik was not only a painter, but also a draughtsman and watercolorist.In Dordrecht, Hendrik was a member of the "Kunstmin" association.
