Michal Wegrzyn (alias DEMENZ, b. 1989, Walbrzych)
Graduate of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. In 2014, he defended his diploma in painting in the studio of Prof. Krzysztof Skarbek and his diploma in painting design in architecture and urbanism in the studio of Prof. Wojciech Kaniowski.During his studies, he collaborated for several years with the Gdansk School of Mural and its leaders - Rafal Roskowiński and Jacek Zdybl from the Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts. As part of this activity, he co-created group projects and designed and executed an original mural dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the National Armed Forces. Thanks to the experience he gained, in 2013 he won first prize in an international competition for the design and realization of a mural entitled "Gate to Nadodrze" (a revitalized district of Wroclaw). In the same year, he was also awarded an art scholarship from the mayor of Wroclaw. He began intensive experimentation with various techniques, including stencils and spray paints. This resulted in obtaining new painting effects using graphic techniques. The resulting works were presented in a graduation exhibition outside the traditional gallery space. The exhibition was placed in the industrial space of an old brewery in Wroclaw. In January 2015, he created an original mural in Mumbai as part of the 2015 Techfest science festival.
