Stanislaw Krzyształowski began his education at an art school in Lviv, and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest during World War II. In 1947 he received his diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and was associated with this city for the rest of his life, showing his works in district and solo exhibitions since 1947. He was also a lecturer at his alma mater, leading the painting studio in the Graphic Arts Department. The Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Cracow awarded him a silver medal for his lifetime achievement. He mainly created landscapes, including a series of Albanian views, exhibited in Tirana in 1955, and numerous Tatra landscapes. His style evolved from realist convention, through stylization and simplification, to allusive abstraction from the second half of the 1950s.
