Black and white photograph of Marilyn Monroe from the famous 1956 "Black Sitting" photo shoot, taken in the artist's New York studio.
Milton H. Greene (1922-1985), American fashion and portrait photographer who became famous for his iconic photographs of Hollywood stars. His adventure with photography began at a young age, and his talent quickly opened the door for him to work with prestigious magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Life. His greatest fame came from his friendship and collaboration with Marilyn Monroe, to whom he took more than 5,000 photos in a variety of styles - from sensual to intimately natural. Greene not only photographed the star, but also co-founded the Marilyn Monroe Productions label with her, which helped her career as an actress. His subtle, emotional portraits depicted not only Monroe, but also Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra and many other pop culture icons. Green's style, combining elegance with delicacy, has ensured that his photographs are still considered among the most recognizable in history.
