Neil Milton is a shy, though talkative, Scottish-Welsh street and live music photographer. He is a photography teacher and writes for Shoot It With Film and 35mmc. He has been called a "surrealist at heart" with "an eye for irony and funny moments." Neil spends his days walking the streets, looking for unexpected, unconventional and contradictory frames. He spends his nights in concert halls, photographing bands and gradually destroying his hearing. Previously, he photographed soccer matches, news events, movie sets, portraits and headshots. However, it was through live music and street photography that Neil found his home. Neil's work has been published in the Glasgow Herald, The Sunday Mail, The Reykjavik Grapevine, The Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser, The Big Issue, The Skinny, The List and on several album covers. In addition, he has had gallery shows at the 13th Note café and the National Scottish Football Museum, both in Glasgow. In January 2022, CKIO hosted Neil's first exhibition in Poland at the Kasyno Palace in Podkowa Leśna. The exhibition Le Retour is a collection of 15 photographs documenting his return to life after lockdown and his return to photography. Neil is a graduate of Magnum Professional Practices and has also completed courses with Magnum photographers Richard Kalvar and Bruce Gilden in Paris and London, respectively.
