German banknote specimens prepared for the occupation authorities belong to the absolute rarities, not only on the Polish market but also in a global context.
The presented specimen constitutes the first recorded appearance in Poland of the 25 Rubles Poznań issue of 1916.
The note bears a single MUSTER perforation and serial number A 0000000, additionally featuring a diagonal perforation of two holes measuring approximately 6–7 mm, as well as a small hole placed above the numeral 25.
Such a combination of perforations is practically unknown among all denominations of both the Poznań and Kowno issues described in the literature.
Certified by PMG with a grade of PMG 55. The only example recorded in the PMG Population Report.
A piece of exceptional rarity intended for the most advanced specialised collections of Polish and German banknotes.
The auction promises to be particularly exciting, and the final price remains a true mystery – an opportunity that may not return for many, many years.
