Jan Kanty PAWLUŚKIEWICZ b. 1942 Nowy Targ
Composer of songs, theater and film music. Co-founder of the musical group Anawa (in which he played until 1980), associated with the Cellar under the Rams and the STU Theater, as well as the National Theater and the Powszechny Theater in Warsaw. He graduated from the National School of Music and the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology. He has collaborated with Marek Grechuta. Pawluśkiewicz's second passion besides composing music is painting. The artist uses a painting technique that he himself called gel art. The gel art technique is extremely labor-intensive; a painting of 40 by 60 cm consists of many thousands of dots applied with gel pens - hence the name gel art. On average, there are 350-400 dots per square centimeter. So far, the artist's paintings have been presented at exhibitions in Poland, Brussels, Italy and Hungary.
