Born February 20, 1939 in Poznan - Polish contemporary artist, multimedia artist, photographer, author of films, paintings, installations, series of photographs and action actions; educator, professor at PWSFTViT in Lodz. He lives and works in Lodz. He graduated in art history from Nicolaus Copernicus University and then from PWSTViT in Lodz, where he is a professor. He is a co-founder of many experimental art groups, including the photographic zero-61 (1961-1969) and the Film Form Workshop (1970-1977). He organizes exhibitions and reviews, including Kinolaboratorium 1973, Silent Cinema I-II 1983-1984, Dungeons of Manhattan 1989, Living Gallery 1998. Since 1978, he has run a private Exchange Gallery. He was an active participant in the so-called Culture of the Whip, an underground art life during martial law. He initiated the Katarzyna Kobro Award, established in 2001. He is a member of the International Association of Artists Künstlergremiumk.
