Biography
The artist graduated from the Department of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. When the first issue of the comic magazine *Relax* was published in 1976, Kasprzak submitted the story *Regenerit* to a drawing contest—he received an offer to collaborate, but the magazine was shut down before his comic was published. Kasprzak’s comics appeared in the magazines “Fantastyka” and “Tempo,” and he also collaborated with Bogusław Polch on the series “Gods from Space” and “Jan Tenner.” Since the mid-1980s, he has been associated with the “Sport i Turystyka” publishing house, where his comics and drawings were published. In 1988, at the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée de Sierre comic book festival, he began collaborating with Grzegorz Rosiński—the artist offered him the opportunity to take over the well-known series *Hans*. Kasprzak moved to Belgium to work with the publishing house Le Lombard and adopted the pseudonym “Kas.” Between 1993 and 2000, he independently published seven volumes of *Hans*, and also worked on *Les Voyageurs* (1995, 1996) and *Halloween Blues* (2003–2009). He has received numerous awards, primarily in France and Belgium.
