"Jowita" - 1967 Polish psychological and moral film directed by Janusz Morgenstern, for which the screenplay was written by Tadeusz Konwicki, based on Stanislaw Dygat's novel Disneyland. Plot description: Marek Arens (Daniel Olbrychski) - an athlete and at the same time an architect - meets a girl with a face covered with a quiff - Jowita - at a fancy dress ball and becomes fascinated by her. He starts an acquaintance and later an affair with Agnieszka (Barbara Kwiatkowska), the niece of the president of the club where he exercises, who plays a sophisticated game with him; he often mentions this Jowita, who, he claims, is her friend.
Sport loses its meaning for him, which irritates his coach (Zbigniew Cybulski), and frustrates the coach's wife (Kalina Jędrusik), who succumbs to an unrequited fascination with Arens. Finding Jowita becomes an obsession for him. One day, while watching tapes of his boxing training, he spots a prostitute, Lola Fiat 1100 (Iga Cembrzyńska), who he believes is responsible for the suicide of his boxing coach, who was replacing his father, and comes to the conclusion that Lola and Jowita are the same person. He attacks her at a dance at the Cracovia Hotel. In the final scene, already a prisoner shoveling snow from Wawel Hill, he learns from Agnes that the latter is getting married and that it was she who was the Jowita in question at the ball at the time. K. Jędrusik (1930-1991) - theater and film actress, singer, wife of S. Dygat, graduate of the PWST in Krakow (1953), made her debut in Gdansk, from 1955 in Warsaw theaters. A respected singer, she performed songs from Kabaret Starszych Panów, to the words of Agnieszka Osiecka.
