Jan Tadeusz Pamuła (born Spytkowice 1944) - Polish painter and graphic artist, professor of fine arts, rector of the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow from 2002 to 2008.
From 1961 to 1968 he studied painting and graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. In 1967 he studied in Paris at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. In 1992 he received the title of professor of fine arts. Professionally associated with his alma mater, where he reached the position of full professor in the Department of Visual Arts in 1996. In the 1990s, he also worked at the New York Institute of Technology as a Fulbright Foundation scholar, and taught at Częstochowa University of Technology. From 1996 to 2002 he served as pro-rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow[1]. From 2002 to 2008 he held the position of rector of this university for two terms.
Jan Pamula specializes in graphics (including computer graphics). He has had more than 50 individual exhibitions at home and abroad, as well as participation in numerous group exhibitions. His works are in the collections of such institutions as the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Cracow, the Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Albertina in Vienna and others.
He is a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and has curated art exhibitions many times. In 2003, he was awarded the Witold Wojtkiewicz Prize.
In 2003, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Rebirth of Poland for his outstanding contributions to art education.
