Agnieszka Zawisza received her diploma with honors in 2000 from Professor Rajmund Ziemski’s studio, and completed a minor in Lithography in Professor Władysław Winiecki’s studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She received her Doctor of Fine Arts degree in 2019 under the supervision of Professor Aleksandra Gieraga at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. The artist has held numerous solo and group exhibitions and remains actively involved in promoting cultural life. She is the co-author of the multimedia project *Matkopolko*, which explores the condition of the mother-artist in contemporary society.

Her artistic practice manifests, in various ways, an interest in the motifs of water, open space, and above all, landscape—first glimpsed in passing, then reinterpreted on the canvas. To create her painterly interpretation of the surrounding reality, the artist employs effects achieved through formal experiments, including various methods of applying paint—which is poured, stamped, and applied in layers, both opaquely and transparently.
