oil, canvas, dimensions 45 x 75 cm, signed p. d. "H. G. ten Hoet"
Hendrik Gerard ten Hoet (1855-1928) - Amsterdam-born painter, author of watercolor and oil paintings of great technical proficiency. His views of vast, flat landscapes crisscrossed by canals, with characteristic windmills, enriched with staffage with animals and people in Dutch costumes, are good examples of realistic landscape painting of the turn of the 20th century.
