Octagonal barrel of .44 calibre with six grooves behind the ring transitions to cylindrical. The barrel is marked "Salles" on the right side. Charging lever under barrel, six-shot cylinder, DA. Copper fuse strip slides into stock and exits just outside the outer cock. Smooth walnut grip shanks, sling ring on iron stock boot. Iron parts nicely engraved. France, after 1860, length 29 cm.
