"The starting point for my painting
was a drawing with four figures of boys
in motion. The figures are avoiding each other, as if moving away
each other, and at the same time they interlock in this
movement. They create a composition that gives the impression of a
fragment of a frieze. When drawing up the initial drawing
on gray paper, I thought of ancient friezes
Greek and Roman, Hellenistic art full of
violent rhythmic movement, I also had in my mind
figures from drawings by Michelangelo or Pontormo, which
always represent the most important point of reference for me.
I also wanted to keep the drawing character of the
of the paintings. Hence the water paint technique, which allows for more
cartoonish, somewhat graphic effects, while preserving the
the layering and form-seeking lines and the hatching itself.
This is accompanied by a stain that lightens the forms on a
darker background, drowning in lasers that create
resultant colors, resulting from the layering of
several layers of transparent color on top of each other, somewhat
like in watercolor. A good medium for me here was
acrylic dispersion with pigment."
