Obverse: in the pearl rim crowned coat of arms of Gdansk, in the outer rim a legend beginning with a hook mark:
GROSSVS*CIVI*GEDANEN*1540;

Reverse: in the pearl rim a royal bust wearing a cap and crown, to the right, in the outer rim a legend beginning with a star:
SIGIS*AND*REX*POLO*TO*TO*PRVS;
