Sigismund I, Groschen 1534, Danzig

A nicely struck, popular Gdańsk grosz.

The details and mint luster are very well preserved.

Obverse: the crowned coat of arms of Gdańsk within a pearl border; the outer border bears an inscription beginning with a rosette:
GROSSVS*CIVI*DANC3*1534;

Reverse: within a beaded border, a royal bust in armor and a crown, facing right; in the outer border, a legend beginning with a rosette:
SIGIS*I*REX*PO*DO*TOCI*PR;
