Phenomenal portrait of a young lady we can count among the flagship works of this artist. The subdued background allows to direct all attention to the heroine of the canvas. The gentle gaze and subtle pose exude girlish charm. The painting was probably created on commission. Czachórski was fond of painting female figures, often in salon interiors. "The world created by our master is some kind of dream Eldorado of happiness, carefree, eternal cheerfulness, constant smiling and exquisiteness. These enchanted princesses in satin robes, play with every little thing, a flower, a necklace, a book, a mandolin, play with conversation when in company, play with life. This is already such a world resurrected by the will of the artist from the yellowed pages of chronicles and historical diaries." - characterized Henryk Piatkowski. Some of the most famous portraits in the artist's oeuvre are those of Alfred Romer and his brother Stanislaw. Czachórski's works also include still lifes or landscapes. The paintings of this outstanding Munich painter delight with attention to detail, almost photographic precision and admirable technical skill. The worldwide fame gained already during the artist's lifetime was a kind of rarity. This popularity persists and makes the appearance of the oil composition in the auction offer a collector's event.
