About the author: Marek Freudenreich (born 3.05.1939 Poznań) a respected Polish applied graphic designer, poster designer, educator. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Warsaw, graduating in 1963 in Professor Henryk Tomaszewski's studio. Initially associated with his alma mater as an assistant until 1969. From 1972-1985 docent at the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Gdansk (PWSSP now Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Gdansk), where he led the Studio of Graphic Design Basics. Since 2009, he has been affiliated with the Faculty of New Media Art at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Gdansk. He was also a professor at art universities in Linz and Hagenberg. Rich and awarded works mainly in the field of posters. Among others, he repeatedly participated in the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw (MBP 66, 68, 70, 72, 74, 76, 78, 80, 84) and the Biennale of Polish Poster in Katowice (BPP) including awards: 1967 Third Prize, 1969 First Prize, 1981 Second Prize twice, in addition, T. Trepkowski Award 1966, Grand Prix International Film Poster Exhibition Cannes 1974, Hollywood Reporter Los Angeles Award 1975, 1976, 1977, 1980, Chicago International Film Festival: Gold Medal 1976 and Bronze Medal 1979, multiple awards for Best Poster of the Month Warsaw. Author of ca 100 film posters in Poland for at least 82 films between 1963 and 1985, in Poland and abroad numerous social, advertising, exhibition and event posters; see Freudenreich 2008 and other materials.
