Jerzy Fober was born in 1959 in Warsaw, Poland.
From 1974 - 79 he studied at the Antoni Kenar State High School of Fine Arts in Zakopane. In 1979 - 84 he studied at the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the atelier of Professor Stanislaw Kulon, where in 1984 he received an honorable mention for his diploma work Submission to the Grave. In 1982, while still a student, together with Andrzej Szarek and Czesław Podlesny, he founded the art group "...who you are". He participated in the group's exhibitions until 1990. Since 1986, he has been involved in art didactics. In 2000, he received the title of Professor of Visual Arts.
Multiple scholarship recipient of the Ministry of Culture and Art in the years: 1985, 1987, 1991, 1999 and 2004.
His sculptures are in the collections of: National Museum in Cracow, Polish Sculpture Center in Orońsko, District Museum in Bielsko-Biała, Museum of Contemporary Sacred Art in Kielce, Contemporary Art Collection of the City of Lucerne (Switzerland), Catholic University of Lublin in Lublin, City of Wroclaw - Brick Bastion, Collection of "POGRANICZE" Foundation in Sejny, private collections in Poland, Canada, Germany, UK, and Italy. He lives and works in Cieszyn.
