In 2010, he received a diploma with distinction in the Studio of Professor Janusz Antoni Pastwa at the Department of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He is the author of the "27" series, which commemorates artists who died at the age of 27. Despite his young age, the artist has had many solo and group exhibitions around the world. His works have received numerous awards and are in the collections of collectors in Poland and abroad. He is one of the most interesting sculptors of the young generation in Poland, combining classical, workshop training with creation, imagination and courage in the field of aesthetic experimentation. In his work, he moves fluidly through techniques and materials alternately working in marble, clay, bronze or steel. Górnicki is also one of the few sculptors in Europe who so uncompromisingly annexes the street space for the purpose of his work.
As he says himself, he starts his work in his head, then translates it into the language of matter. The sculpture itself is the culmination of an intellectual process, a creative approach to a particular issue.
The work on display is from the exhibition "THOU ART DARKEST", where the artist engaged in a bold dialogue with sacred art. The exhibition was presented in Gdansk, Berlin, London, New York and Los Angeles.
"I am fascinated by anatomy juxtaposed with geometry, the tensions arising from form. I try to introduce an element of chaos into a logical structure: emotions. I am driven by the permanent feeling of the passage of time, where beauty equals loss. In my sculptures I want to stop time, so that the feelings in them can last forever. Permanent materials are the medium to preserve memories."
