Julia Giżycka-Berezowska (Yelgava 1880-1976) - Painter. Studied at the Baraniecki Art Courses in Cracow (1902-1904), participated in plein-air painting workshops under the guidance of J. Malczewski, J. Stanislawski and L. Wyczółkowski. She was a member of the Association of Polish Women Painters in Lviv (1929-1938) and the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Lviv (since 1930), as well as the "Zachęta" group (since 1956). She had three solo exhibitions at TPSP in Cracow (1935, 1937, 1957). She participated, among others, in the exhibitions "Land of Cracow" at TPSP in Cracow (1936), "Child in Art" in Lviv (1937), "Portrait" at the MDM Art Gallery (1969). She practiced easel painting, drawing and printmaking. She mainly created portraits and still lifes, but also painted genre and religious scenes and landscapes.
