Sławomir Chrystow (b. 1976), The Judgment of Paris

Sławomir Christow (b. 1976) – illustrator, painter, and printmaker born in Varna. From 1992 to 1995, he studied under Yavor Tsanev, a Bulgarian painter and printmaker. From 1996 to 2001, he studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He earned his diploma in the woodcut studio under Prof. Zbigniew Lutomski. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, both in Poland and abroad.
An artist open to the world of symbols and myths, in addition to his graphic work, he also practices painting, most often using traditional techniques such as egg tempera, watercolor, and gouache. In his work, he draws on archetypes and symbols deeply rooted in our imagination, while simultaneously blending various eras and cultures. Fascinated, among other things, by the Italian Quattrocento and the painting of Mughal India, he creates his own unique world, drawing on the painting traditions of both the East and the West. He is a two-time winner of the NGM Grand Prix in Kraków and recipient of the City of Kraków Creative Fellowship. Chryst’s works have been exhibited in Rome, at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, and at the palace in Łańcut, among other venues.
