Biography
Adam Setkowicz studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1891-94. It is known that he participated in an exhibition in Piotrkow Trybunalski in 1933. He painted mainly in watercolors, although he also did not shy away from oil techniques. The artist's favorite subjects were genre scenes from the life of the Polish countryside, hunting expeditions, country estates, sleigh rides and horse-drawn carriages. Oil works, which were very popular in the era and are less well known today, were often reproduced on various types of postcards, and their subjects were taken from literary works or history.
