Edward Dwurnik's abstract works, developed in parallel with his figurative series, constitute an important strand in his oeuvre. "Abstraction No. 1431" is part of the stage of formal search, when the artist freely operated with gesture, color and texture, building compositions with a high charge of visual energy. The abstraction in question is based on a free arrangement of forms, which - despite their apparent chaos - form a well-thought-out structure. The space of the work is filled with a dense network of lines and freely spilled patches of color. The number, stamps and handwritten notes are additional elements documenting the features of the object.
