Andrzej Pągowski (19 IV 1953 in Warsaw, lives there) graduated from the State Higher School of Fine Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts) in Poznań in 1978, defending his diploma in the studio of Prof. Waldemar Swierzy. He began creating and publishing posters, of which he has more than a thousand, while still a student. He also designs album covers, does book illustration, satirical drawing and computer graphics, as well as theater and television set design. Since 1986 he has been the art director of magazines, including "Fashion" and the Polish edition of "Playboy." Since 1989, he has worked on advertising campaigns and founded the advertising agencies Studio P (1990) and KreacjaPro (2002). Since 1980 he has regularly participated in the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw, and since 1981 in the Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice. He also participates in numerous exhibitions and reviews of posters and graphics at home and abroad, where his work has also been presented at many solo exhibitions. He is the recipient of many awards won at the Los Angeles International Competition for Best Film and Television Posters and several major awards at the Chicago International Film Poster Competition. In recent years, he has also received awards for achievements in advertising.
